Our Focus: To increase development and involvement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers in our business and explore innovative partnership models for better outcomes.
Sodexo has historically invested in the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers. As a testament to this commitment, we recently doubled the amount of indigenous suppliers we work with.
This increase has meant more than a tenfold increase in spend with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses. This shows just how important these communities are within the Sodexo family.
We recognise that supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses delivers real benefits back into their communities. This work provides economic inclusion, creation and development of capability.
When it comes to supplier diversity, our key areas of focus are:
Increasing investment: We strive to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers working with our business while also increasing spend with our current indigenous suppliers. Our focus will remain on inclusion and opportunities for local suppliers/businesses.
Fostering improved capability: Sodexo will work closely with Supply Nation to engage, develop and accredit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers. We’ll also work with existing and new suppliers on professional development, this will include business coaching for executives, managers and employees.
Creating new ideas: Collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers and organisations will be a big focus. We will provide opportunities in different and changing markets, broaden capability and develop new sources of revenue. Our aim is to also explore various partnership models that support expansion and growth.
